MOR-Bible,
which is in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, may Grace
be to you and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying
always for you. We thank God our Father always without ceasing because,
when you received the Word of God which you heard of us, you received
it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the Word of God,
which effectually works also in you that believe (1 Thessalonians
2:13). We pray that you would walk worthy of God who has called
us to His kingdom and glory. We pray you will let the Word of Christ
dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs; singing with grace
in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16). In the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
In
the August 2021 teaching,
we reviewed some of the scriptures for the Latin word Pater
which means "Father, ancestor, spoken of God, creator."
Based on our search, (the Greek word anakrino) we have decided
that there is one true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
who is our Father, who is above all and through all and in all born-again
believers in the body of Christ!
In
this month's teaching, we will discuss the two spiritual Fathers
and their seeds. Our unity is with the one true God, the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ who is our Father!
Part
1:
- There
are two Spiritual Fathers.
- There
are two spiritual seeds in this world.
- How
to be born-again of the seed of the true God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
- Understand
those born of the devil's seed.
Part
2 (next month):
- Review
some of the scriptures documented in John 8 where Jesus Christ
confronts the men born of the devil's seed.
Let's
begin this month's teaching (Part 1) by understanding there are
two Spiritual Fathers in this world. The first being the God and
the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ as presented in Romans 15: 6:
That
ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
And
the second Spiritual Father of this world being the god of this
world Satan as stated in 2 Corinthians 4:3-4:
But
if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Please
re-read the February
2016 teaching for how the devil became the god of this world.
Both Gods are Spirit and as such create spiritual seeds in this
world. Genesis 3:15 identifies the two seeds:
And
I [God] will put enmity between thee [the serpent]
and the woman, and between thy seed [the serpent] and
her seed [Christ Galatians 3:16]; it [her seed Christ]
shall bruise thy head, and thou [the serpent's seed] shalt
bruise his heel.
How
many seeds are there? Two! So, there are only two ways to have a
spiritual seed! The serpent is one of the names for the Devil. How
can we be born-again of the seed of the one true God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ? The person of body and soul hears the
Word of God taught and sees miracles, wonders, and signs performed
by them who are born-again of the true God, the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ. This individual of body and soul decides to confess
by their free will what Romans 10:9: says:
That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
Now
the one true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ creates His
spiritual seed in that person of body and soul. This seed is the
gift of holy spirit! This spiritual seed which is the gift of holy
spirit is incorruptible and remains forever! 1 Peter 1:23 tells
us:
Being
born-again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by
the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
God's
Word says this spiritual seed, the gift of holy spirit, is incorruptible
and lives and abides forever! The word forever means what? Forever!
This spiritual seed, the gift of holy spirit, is eternal unity with
God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father! I am born-again
of God's incorruptible seed and nothing I or anyone else can do
will change His seed in me!
Some
of the characteristics of this incorruptible seed are:
- Eternal
life (Romans 6:23)
- The
seed of Christ (Galatians 3:16)
- Love
of God (Romans 5:5)
- Children
of light and the day (1 Thessalonians 5:5)
- Children
of God (Galatians 3:26)
- Christ
in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)
- The
devil cannot take away that gift of holy spirit in the one who
is born-again of the one true God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, for it is eternal life! (Romans 6:23)
- Incorruptible
seed (1 Peter 1:23).
We
must remember that the Devil is the god of this world (2 Corinthians
4:4). The Devil can influence people, circumstances, the environment,
situations, and man-made religion. The born-again believer still
has body and soul and lives in this world. The born-again believer
eats in this world, sleeps in this world, breathes in this world,
travels in this world, and fellowships with other people in this
world. If the born-again believer is not taught God's Word rightly
divided, or if he/she does not believe it, or walks by their five
senses, the serpent (adversary/Satan/devil) will get an advantage
of the born-again believers and corrupt their mind from the simplicity
that is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3 states:
But
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through
his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.
The
battlefield between the two Spiritual Fathers is for the mind of
the believer! The god of this world uses situations and conditions
to corrupt people's minds. How does he do this? He organizes the
world, situations, and circumstances so that as people walk day-by-day
they are unaware of his works. After a while, their minds become
corrupted! The minds of the believers have been corrupted by what
they hear, see, smell, taste, and touch in the world that is around
them. They are corrupted through people or situations that the devil
has arranged. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:7:
For
we walk by faith [believing], not by sight.
When
a believer does not rightly divide the Word of God, the Devil gains
a foothold in their lives. They cannot walk in God's Word if they
do not practice it daily and let the Word interpret itself in the
verse and in the context. We do this by reading God's Word and checking
the meaning against what is written in the Bible. As it is written
in Romans 10:17:
So,
then faith [believing] cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.
Romans
12:1-2 reminds us:
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your reasonable [religion] service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
I beg
and entreat you, my brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God
that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable,
well-pleasing to God our Father which is your religious service.
I implore you not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is that
good, acceptable, well-pleasing, and perfect Will of God by studying
to show yourself approved to God as a worker that needs not to be
ashamed by rightly dividing the Word of truth (see 2 Timothy 2:15).
My
brothers and sisters, your mind controls your body. Your mind also
controls Christ in you the hope of glory which is the gift of holy
spirit! The gift of holy spirit in us is inherent power. God gives
us spiritual ability to walk daily in His Word! If we do not renew
our minds to God's Word daily so that our physical bodies are holy,
acceptable and well pleasing to God, we will break the fellowship
with our Father and bind the Christ in us! Remember in our physical
bodies we have Christ in us the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)!
As it is written in Colossians 2:6:
As
ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in
him.
When
our Lord Jesus was tempted, he said "It is written" (see
Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4)! We must know the rightly divided Word
of God, our Father, to back down the Devil's attacks on our minds!
The Word of God is the Will of God our Father!
When
the Devil tempted Jesus, he showed Jesus the kingdoms of the world
and the power and glory of this world. The Devil said that he would
give Jesus the power and glory of this world if he would worship
him (Luke 4: 5-7). The devil also quoted the scriptures (Psalms
91:11-12) out of context to Jesus in Matthew 4:6. Psalms 91:11-12
tells us:
For
he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all
thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot
against a stone.
The
context of Psalms 91 is documented in verses 9-10. David made the
Lord (Jehovah) his refuge and the highest (Elyon), a habitation,
a place of residence, a place of safety. As such, David believed
that no evil would befall him or that no plague would come to his
dwelling, his place of residence, a place of safety. Psalms
91: 9-10:
Because
thou hast made the Lord [Jehovah], which is my refuge,
even the most High [Elyon], thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling.
Because
of the information documented in verses 9-10, we can see the context
of verses 11-12 of Psalms 91:
For
he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all
thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot
against a stone.
Psalms
91:11-12 has nothing do with the holy city or the temptation documented
in Matthew 4:6. These verses refers to David who made the Lord (Jehovah)
his refuge and the most highest (Elyon), his habitation, a place
of residence, a place of safety. The devil quoted these verses out
of context! But Jesus rightly divided the context of God's Word
and was not tricked by the devil! Jesus said to him:
It
is written again, thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God (Matthew
4:7).
So,
to tempt the Lord our God is to take His Word out of context and
ask people to do it!
The
Devil knows the scriptures! But he will never quote the scriptures
in the right context! He will add or delete a word in the scriptures.
The Devil will change it for his purposes which is to gain control
of our minds and our lives. The Devil will lie, cheat, steal, and
destroy in order to get the attention of people born-again of God's
spirit and those which are not born-again. The Devil is constantly
tempting the born-again believers by taking God's Word out of context
and asking people to do it. Just like he did when he tempted Jesus,
the Devil shows people the kingdoms, power, and glory of this world.
He offers these "riches" if they will fall down and worship
him. For some people, it may be a block in the neighborhood or a
town or a state or a country. For others, it may be fame or money
or power. And for still others, it may be shoes, clothes, a car,
or drugs. To obtain this, all the person must do is fall down and
worship the Devil! And we all know that quite a few do!
A man
or woman who hears the opposite of the Word of God and the Word
of God quoted out context and believes what he or she hears and
starts living it in his or her life. Once the devil sees this, he
will then show him or her the kingdoms, power, and glory of this
world (e.g., fame, fortune, glory, etc.). The only catch is that
the Devil will give this to them if they fall down and worship him.
Once tempted, the individual who believes these words of the Devil
must then confess with his or her mouth that the Devil is lord.
This individual is then born of the Devil's seed which is eternal
death. Once you are born of the seed of the devil you cannot ever
change it! It is called in God's Word "blasphemy" against
the Holy Ghost!
Some
of the characteristics of this corruptible seed are:
- Seed
of devil (Genesis 3:15)
- Eternal
death (Matthew 12:31)
- Children
of night and darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5)
- Children
of the devil (1 John 3:10)
- Child
of devil (Acts 13:10)
- Hate
(1 John 3:15)
The
Bible tells us that the children of the devil are enemies of all
righteousness and do their best to pervert the right ways of the
Lord! Acts 13:6-10:
And
when they [Barnabas and Saul] had gone through the isle
unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a
Jew [Judean], whose name was Barjesus:
Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent
man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the
word of God.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation)
withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost,
set his eyes on him.
And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child
of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease
to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Remember
this corruption of the mind, the confessing the Devil as lord, is
subtle. The Devil just doesn't walk up to us and say, "I will
give you these awesome shoes worth $600 if you confess me as lord."
It is not as up-front as that. For most people, it is a slow corruption
of the mind. It starts with one little lie, one little turning of
God's Word, one little misinterpretation of the Word of Truth. It
then builds over time until a person forgets God's Word and accepts
the Spiritual seed of the Devil. We have all known sincere people
who are born-again believers who slowly move further and further
away from God's Word and begin to walk in the ways of the god of
this world the Devil. There only two ways we can walk, by the word
of God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ or by the god of this
world's doctrine. The key is to practice what is taught in 2 Timothy
2:15:
Study
to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, brightly dividing the word of truth.
The
Bible teaches and instructs us to receive the Word with all readiness
of mind and search the scriptures daily to show ourselves approved
unto God! Ephesians 6:16 reminds us:
Above
all, taking the shield of believing, wherewith you shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Let's
review some of the Greek words for the English words used in Acts
13: 6-10 to learn more about the characteristics of a child of the
Devil. The original text for Acts was written in Greek. By understanding
the Greek meaning associated with the English translation, we come
to be a much richer appreciation of the instruction of the text
in Acts. This is the way we rightly divide the Word of God by learning
and understanding the context and depth of the meaning of the original
text. Review these meanings and then go back to Acts 13: 6-10 and
substitute the Greek word's meaning for each English word. Now see
how rich God's Word is!
In
our word study, the Greek word for:
-
Full is pleerees - full of, filled with, genitive, full, complete,
sufficient.
- Subtilty
is dolos - unscrupulous conduct, knavery, villainy. The plural
form means knavish tricks, deceit, fraud, guile.
- Mischief
is radiourgia - ease or lightness of doing, levity in doing, recklessness.
- Devil
is diabolos - chief of the demons, who are his angels, slanderous,
calumnious, accuser.
- Righteousness
is dikaiosunee - justice, the doing or being what is just and
right; the character and acts of a man commanded by and approved
of God, in virtue of which the man corresponds with Him and His
will as His ideal standard; it signifies the sum total of all
that God commands and approves. As such it is only what God demands,
but what He gives to man and which is appropriated by faith; and
hence is a state called forth by God's act of justification, by
judicial deliverance from all that stands in the way of being
righteous.
- Pervert
is diastrepho - to turn about; to turn into something else; to
change.
- Lord
is Kurios - sir, master or supremacy (see December 2020 teaching).
Note: In the Epistles, Lord generally refers to Christ and denotes
his position of master in relation to his people, as he who has
ownership and authority over them. Hence, all the social and natural
relationships of life are to be regarded and performed as subject
to his authority (source: Bullinger (1975) Critical Lexicon
and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament).
In
the Bible, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit God are those individuals
born of the seed of the Devil. We read that these men and women
born of the seed of the Devil were filled with deceit, fraud, and
guile. We see this in our daily walk those born of the seed of the
Devil act with unscrupulous conduct and with ease and lightness
of doing evil. They are enemies of all righteousness! Their goal
is always to turn you from the one true God and His Word! Matthew
12:31 states:
Wherefore
I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven
unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost [God] shall
not be forgiven unto men.
Blasphemy
against the Holy Ghost is to be born of devil's seed! It's eternal
death! It can never be forgiven to men and women! That's why God's
Word declared there is a sin unto death, and we shall not pray for
those born of the devil's seed. 1 John 5:16 reminds us:
If
any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he
shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto
death. There is a sin unto death [born of the seed of the
devil]: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
In
this month's teaching, we learned there are two Spiritual Fathers.
We also learned there are two spiritual seeds in this world. We
learned how to be born-again of the seed of the one true God, the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God's Word gave us an understanding
of how people are born of the devil's seed. We read in Matthew 12:31
that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit refers to those born of the
seed of the devil. We also reviewed the Greek meaning for the English
translation of Acts 13: 6-10 to learn more about the characteristics
of a child of the devil. Through our walk-in life, we recognize
that men and women born of the seed of the devil will always be
filled with deceit, fraud, and guile. They will act with unscrupulous
conduct and with ease and lightness of doing evil. They are enemies
of all righteousness! Their goal is to turn you away from the one
true God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Word!
Father,
I am so grateful and thankful for your Word which declares we are
born-again of your incorruptible seed which lives and abides forever
and there is nothing anyone can do to change your seed in us. Father,
I am so grateful and thankful for your Word which tells your children
your Will. Father, I am so grateful and thankful for your Word which
provides instructions to your children about the character of these
men and women born of the seed of the devil, lest Satan should get
an advantage of us. Father, I am so grateful and thankful for each
believer that daily searches your Word, receives it with meekness,
retains it with conviction and speaks it forth with boldness. Father,
thank you for your Word which is quick, powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword. Your Word pierces even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart. In the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, Amen.
In
next month's teaching (Part 2), we will read in John 8 to see how
Jesus Christ confronted men born of the seed of the devil.
