MOR-Bible,
which is in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace be to
you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We thank God our Father always without ceasing because when you
received the Word of God which you heard of us, you received it
not as the word of men, but as it is in truth the Word of God, which
effectually works also in you that believe (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
In the July 2021 teaching,
we defined the word "Father" which is the Latin word Pater
which means "Father, ancestor, spoken of God, creator,"
who is above all, and through all, and in all of those born-again
of His Spirit! We defined what the number eight (8) represents in
the Word of God and reviewed usages of the number eight (8) in God's
Word, as "Father" is listed eighth in Ephesians 4:6.
Over the last several months, we have performed a textual Word-based
study on the eight unities of the spirit documented in Ephesians
4:4-6:
There
is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope
of your calling;
One
Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One
God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and
in you all.
God's
Word unequivocally declares there is one true God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, who is above all and through
all born-again believers, and in all born-again believers in the
body of Christ! We now know from God's Word how to keep the unity
of the Spirit in the bond of peace with God our Father and His son
the Lord Jesus Christ and the body of Christ!
In the teachings from January 2021-July
2021, we have learned so much from God's Word about these unities
in His Word. I pray that we may be able to comprehend with all the
born-again believers what is the breadth, length, depth, and height
of these eight unities documented in God's Word in Ephesians 4:6:
One
God and Father [Pater] of all, who is above all, and through
all, and in you all.
In
this month's teaching, we will review some of the scriptures for
the Latin word Pater used for our English word "Father."
Just a reminder from last month's teaching, the word "Father"
is the Latin word Pater meaning Father, ancestor, spoken
of God, as creator (Bullinger. 1975. Critical Lexicon and Concordance
to the English and Greek New Testament).
When we search the scriptures, we see the Latin word Pater
meaning "Father." This word applies to our Spiritual Father,
earthly fathers, and Abraham our father by believing. Pater
is also used for the father of those born of the seed of the devil.
John 3:6 tells us that we have an earthly father and a spiritual
Father.
That
which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of
the Spirit is spirit.
This
tells us we have two separate births! One birth is from the corruptible
flesh of my earthly father. And the other birth is from the incorruptible
gift of holy spirit of my heavenly Father which lives and abides
forever! 1 Peter 1:23 states:
Being
born-again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by
the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
The
Greek word Pater is used in God's Word many times. We are
going to review the scriptures for the Greek word Pater documented
in the Church Epistles that are addressed to our current administration
of Grace. I encourage you to please read the contexts of these scriptures
in order to receive further understanding. Romans 1:7:
To
all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace
to you and peace from God our Father [Pater], and the Lord
Jesus Christ.
When
you confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that the
one true God raised him from the dead you were born-again of His
Spirit and He became your Father (Romans 10:9). Romans 8:15 tells
us:
For
ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of adoption [sonship], whereby
we cry, Abba, Father [Pater].
Romans
15:8:
Now
I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision [Israel]
for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers
[Pater].
1
Corinthians 1:3:
Grace
be unto you, and peace, from God our Father [Pater], and
from the Lord Jesus Christ.
1
Corinthians 8:6:
But
to us there is but one God, the Father [Pater], of whom
are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom
are all things, and we by him.
How
many Gods and Fathers? One God the Father. How many Lords? One Lord
Jesus Christ! To us, the sons and daughters of the one true God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, there is one God and one Lord,
Jesus Christ. And we are in him!
1 Corinthians
15:24:
Then
cometh the end, when he [Christ]
shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father [Pater];
when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
2 Corinthians
1:3:
Blessed
be God, even the Father [Pater]
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of
all comfort.
2 Corinthians
11:31:
The
God and Father [Pater]
of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth
that I lie not.
2
Corinthians 6:18:
And
will be a Father [Pater] unto you, and ye shall be my sons
and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Galatians
1:1:
Paul,
an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ,
and God the Father [Pater], who raised him from the dead;).
Galatians
1:4:
Who
[our Lord Jesus Christ] gave himself for our sins, that
he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to
the will of God and our Father [Pater]?
Galatians
4:6:
And
because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son
into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father [Pater].
God,
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, is the Father of all who have
confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in their hearts that God has
raised him from the dead!
Ephesians
1:3:
Blessed
be the God and Father [Pater]
of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
God
our Father had blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ. This statement is in the past tense! It's done,
people! It has nothing to do with the way we feel! We have been
blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ!
Ephesians
3:14:
For
this cause I bow my knees unto the Father [Pater]
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians
5:20:
Giving
thanks always for all things unto God and the Father [Pater]
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This
verse plainly states we are to give thanks for all things unto God
and the Father in the name of our Lord (Kurios - master) Jesus Christ,
the humbled one now glorified! It does not state to give thanks
in the name of Jesus. I didn't write it. I am just reading God's
Word, believing it, saying it, and doing it! See December
2020 teaching.
Philippians
2:11:
And
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord [master],
to the glory of God the Father [Pater].
How
many tongues? Every tongue!
Philippians
2:22:
But
ye know the proof of him [Timothy], that, as a son with
the father [Pater], he hath served with me in the gospel.
Philippians
4:20:
Now
unto God and our Father [Pater] be glory forever and ever.
Amen.
Colossians
1:3:
We
give thanks to God and the Father [Pater] of our Lord Jesus
Christ, praying always for you.
Colossians
2:2:
That
their [them at Laodicea] hearts might be comforted, being
knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance
of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God,
and of the Father [Pater], and of Christ.
Colossians
3:17:
And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father [Pater]
by him.
1
Thessalonians 1:3:
Remembering
without ceasing your work of faith [believing], and labor
of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the
sight of God and our Father [Pater].
1
Thessalonians 3:11:
Now
God himself and our Father [Pater], and our Lord Jesus
Christ, direct our way unto you.
1 Thessalonians
3:13:
To
the end he [the
Lord-master]
may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even
our Father [Pater],
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
If
you have the seed of God which is the gift of the holy spirit in
you, then God is your Father! We received God's seed by meeting
the requirements of Romans 10:9.
2
Thessalonians 1:1:
Paul,
and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians
in God our Father [Pater] and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2
Thessalonians 1:2:
Grace
unto you, and peace, from God our Father [Pater] and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
2
Thessalonians 2:16-17:
Now
our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father [Pater],
which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation
and good hope through grace.
Comfort
your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work.
We
must come to a decision to keep like a treasure the unity of the
Spirit in the bond of peace. We must, as sons and daughters of God
our Father, walk with lowliness, humility, modesty, and demeanor.
We must walk with meekness, gentleness, tenderness, and enduring
all things with an even temper. We must walk with longsuffering,
patient, endurance, and forbearance. We must walk, upright, we must
hold up, hold out, endure and bear with one another in unity. And
the only way we can do this is with the love of God in the renewed
mind in manifestation! The Will of God is the Word of God.
In
this month's teaching, we have reviewed some of the scriptures for
the Latin word Pater used for our English word "Father."
To us, the sons and daughters of the one true God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, there is one God and one Lord, Jesus Christ
and we are in him!
We
pray to God our Father and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of
whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named that He would
grant us according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened
with might by His Spirit in the inner man. We pray to God our Father
that Christ may dwell in our hearts by believing that we, being
rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all
saints what is the breadth, length, depth, and height of His love.
We pray to God our Father to know the love of Christ, which passes
knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fullness of God.
We thank God our Father who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works
in us. We give thanks to God our Father. Glory in the church by
Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end (Ephesians 3:
14-21). In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
